How much water should you drink in a day?


When someone talks about elixir, there is only one word that crosses my mind – Water! Honestly, I have never known those mystery elixirs to make us eternal that we read about in actual. The only elixirs we know is Water which is meant to make us eternally healthy and that’s all we need in this life because all other things come next and depend on how healthy are we.

When it comes to good health, water is essential. However, the need for drinking water varies from individual to individual.

The amount of water you should drink in a day depends on following factors:

  1. The area you live in
  2. Age
  3. Type of your body
  4. Your health
  5. How active you are

On average, it is recommended that drinking 2 liters of water a day is optimal for your heath. However, there are many other studies that show that we should drink water frequently to stay hydrated so that we stay energized throughout the day.

How much water should kids drink in a day?

On the other hand, adults over the age of 18 should be drinking at least 8-12 glasses per day. This is very simple rule to remember. We call it 8×8-rule. That means drink 8 glasses of water with 8 ounces quantity each. That’s roughly equal to 2 liters per day.

60% of our body is water. Therefore, to maintain the healthy water content in body, one must frequently drink water. It helps in detoxification of your body and optimization of your body processes. Water is necessary to stay healthy and proper hydration also keeps you skin glowing and firm.
